The Region and its partners
Making it easier to use public transport so that people use it more is a significant act in favour of sustainable development. This is the objective of commentjyvais.fr, the new Basse-Normandie wide public transport itinerary search. The Basse-Normandie Region, as a public authority which organises passenger transport rail services, brought together within the TER network, considers the information diffused to the public to be one of its priorities. It has taken the initiative of bringing together all of the region's public transport organising authorities in a bid to collectively promote intermodality*.
This website now includes timetables for the Basse-Normandie rail network (TER and Corail Intercités), the Calvados, Manche and Orne departmental transport services and the urban transport services for the Caen, Cherbourg and Alençon conurbations and the towns of Lisieux, Bayeux and Argentan. You’ll also find practical information (traffic disruption, transport on demand, etc.) and links to the transport network websites.
And a new means of transport has made its entry: air travel. Services to and from Deauville Saint-Gatien are presented in commentjyvais.fr.
Basse-Normandie has thus added to its attractiveness through its efforts to make business and tourist travel easier for everyone in Normandy.
commentjyvais.fr could eventually form part of an inter-regional information network in partnership with neighbouring regions, or even a European network.
* Intermodality = The principle which aims to develop and strengthen complementarity among the various modes of transport, in the course of a single journey.
