How can I plan my journey?

In the search box on the home page, enter a point of departure by specifying the town, station or stop, point of interest and/or address, then enter the same information for the point of arrival.

Next, select the desired date of departure. Today's date is indicated by default. Then enter the desired time of departure or of arrival.

If needed, you can change the 'Modes of transport' options by selecting or deselecting them. By default, all modes of public transport are selected.

In all cases, Commentjyvais searches for the journeys that leave or arrive around the requested time (before and after) and it suggests different options (the fastest route, the route with the fewest changes, etc.).

Do I have to select or deselect a mode of transport?

By default, all modes of public transport are included in the route calculation, but personal modes of transport (bike and car) are not.

For more specific needs (e.g. accessibility requirements or personal preference), you can opt to deselect one or more modes of transport. Please note that in this case, not all possible routes will be suggested.

Understanding the results suggested

  • Commentjyvais automatically suggests 1 to 5 solutions for your query with options such as earliest arrival, number of changes, or walking distance. These suggested routes take into account your travel preferences and your requirements.
  • You can view the various routes on the map by hovering your mouse over each suggested route.
  • The duration of the route, the time of departure, and the time of arrival are displayed for each journey.
  • The pictographs represent the different modes of transport (bus, train, etc.) that you will need to use during your journey. The diagram of the journey shows which modes of transport will be used and when, with the size of each section being proportional to time spent.
  • Click on the solution you wish to see for detailed route and directions.

You can change your travel preferences at any time by clicking on the 'Edit' link at the top of the page.

What can I enter as a point of departure or arrival?

Commentjyvais enables you to find routes that leave from or go to:

  • an address located in the region of Brittany.
  • a city or town (everywhere in France)
  • a station or stop served by one of the BreizhGo site's partner networks in Brittany or outside of Basse-Normandie (for train stations).
  • a point of interest (town hall, prefecture, school, etc.).

To improve results, we recommend entering two items of information on your point of departure or arrival: one the one hand, a city or a town, and, on the other hand, an address, a station or a stop, or a point of interest.

If, however, only the name of the city or town is provided as a point of departure and/or arrival, Commentjyvais will suggest a route from and/or to a main stop.

Understanding walking and cycling routes

The calculated distance of your journey indicates that some or all of it may be undertaken on foot or by bike. This journey time is an estimation only. Commentjyvais does not have complete knowledge of all cycle lanes and tracks or of any difficulties you may encounter on the way.

How is the CO2 equivalent calculated?

Commentjyvais journey planner indicates the CO2 emissions for your journey, thus enabling you to be aware of the environmental impact of your journey.
The calculation of CO2 production is carried out in relation to distances travelled and using average ratios for CO2 production specific to each mode of transport (TGV train: 2.5 gCDE*/km, Train: 37.4 gCDE/km, Tram 61.3 gCDE/km, Bus: 101.7 gCDE/km, Coach: 101.7 gCDE/km, Busway: 105.3 gCDE/km, Minibus: 128.1 gCDE/km, Car: 183.5 gCDE/km, Airplane: 311.9 gCDE/km)

On the site, values are expressed in CO2 grams rather than in CDE. These ratios are supplied by ADEME (France's Environment and Energy Management Agency).
